Active slow travel

Why a bike & wine tour?

Because it's the best way to feel this region. Hop on an e-bike and cruise past endless vineyards, wild fig trees, quiet stone villages, and viewpoints that will stop you in your tracks.

Then come back to the winery for a guided tasting of Jablan's small-batch organic wines — full of character, made with love just metres from your glass.

This is not a tourist circus — this is slow travel with soul, hosted by people who live and breathe this land. Cycle more, sweat less. Our powerful e-bikes take the edge off the climbs so you can focus on the scenery, the culture, and the freedom of riding through a place instead of driving past it.

With care for nature

A family-run winery on the hills above Rvaši

Jablan is a family-run winery perched on a hill above Rvaši — a historic village known for its natural springs and traditional winemaking heritage. Natural wine has been part of our property for generations, but it was in 2020 that Borislav and Angelika Jablan decided to focus on grape growing and expand the vineyards.

We grow local varieties — Vranac and Krstač/Primitivo — and make our wines with minimal intervention. No chemicals, no shortcuts, spontaneous fermentation. Our orange and red wines age in Georgian Qveri amphoras, which give them their distinctive flavour. Some of our vines are over a hundred years old; most of the prized ones are aged 50 to 70.

Since 2021 the vineyard is officially registered as a business, and we've started the EU organic certification process — 2025 will be our first certified organic vintage. We make just a few thousand bottles a year, at the pace of the land.

Where nature thrives

Skadar Lake — the quiet side

Skadar Lake is one of the most beautiful and biodiverse places in the Balkans — and still remarkably under the radar. It's a National Park, a birdwatcher's paradise, and a haven for wild swimming, kayaking, and authentic food and natural wine.

Jablan sits tucked in the hills above the lake, in one of the most unspoiled parts of the national park — yet only 30 minutes from the capital, Podgorica. This isn't the busy side of the lake. It's the quiet, slow, and beautiful one.

Prefer culture? Ask about boat trips to the lake's island monasteries, or visit the former royal capital of Cetinje with its museums and charming historical centre.

Are children welcome at Jablan?+

Yes, very much so. There's plenty of ground for games and running around — plus our gang of cats, who are always happy to help.

Do you ship your wines?+

Not yet — we're working on it. For now, come with some extra room in your suitcase.

When's the best time to visit?+

Spring and autumn (April–June and September–October) are ideal for the active tours — mild temperatures, long light. Summer is hot but a boat ride or a swim in the lake is very welcome.

How do I get to the winery?+
