With care for nature

About Jablan winery

Jablan is a family-run winery perched on a hill above Rvaši a historic village known for its natural springs and traditional winemaking heritage. With just a few thousand bottles per year, everything here is made on a small scale, in pace with nature and with low intervention — and that’s exactly how we like it.

We grow local grape varieties such as Vranac and Krstač/Primitivo, and craft our wines using minimal intervention. No chemicals, no shortcuts, spontaneous fermentation — just honest wine that reflects this unique corner of Montenegro. We make our orange and red wines in amphoras, so called Qveris, which we imported from Georgia, giving its unique flavour.

Since generations, wine was part of the agricultural production of our property, but then it was never solely. In 2020 Borislav and Angelika Jablan decided to emphasize on grape growing, and expanded the vineyards. Some of our vines are over 100 years old! The most valuable ones are currently around 50-70 years old.

Since 2021 the vineyard is officially registered as a business, and we started the process to certificate for organic winemaking according to standards of the European Union. Vintage 2025 will be our first certified organic harvest.

Come for the wine..

..stay for the region

Jablan winery is located in one of the most impressive sceneries of Montenegro and even the Balkans. Lake Skadar is just around the corner and offers a range of activities. From cycling routes to kayaking or boating on the lake or enjoying the views from a cafe in around the lake.

Active slow travel

Why wine & bike?

Because it’s the best way to feel this region.

Hop on an e-bike and cruise past endless vineyards, wild fig trees, quiet stone villages, and viewpoints that will stop you in your tracks. Then come back to the winery for a guided tasting of Jablan’s small-batch wines — organic, full of character, and made with love just meters away from your glass.

This is not a tourist circus — this is slow travel with soul, hosted by people who live and breathe this land.

Lake Skadar

Where nature thrives

Lake Skadar is one of the most beautiful and biodiverse places in the Balkans — yet still remarkably under the radar. It’s a National Park, a birdwatcher’s paradise, and a heaven for lovers of wild swimming, kayaking, and authentic food and wine.

Jablan sits tucked in the hills above Lake Skadar, in one of the most unspoiled parts of the national park, but also only a 30 minute drive from the capital city Podgorica. From our place, you have access to some of the region’s most authentic and peaceful corners — far from the main tourist routes.

Our packages give a good mix of what the area has to offer, but of course with a lake of about 400 km2 , there’s much to explore. Prefer culture? Ask about boat trips to the lake’s island monasteries or visits to nearby villages where time moves at its own pace and traditions still shape daily life, or visit the former royal capital of Cetinje, with it’s museums and charming historical town center.

This isn’t the busy side of Lake Skadar — it’s the quiet, slow, and beautiful one.
